New SGI Visualization Machine: PRISM

To further add a nail into the IRIX/MIPS coffin, SGI has just launched a new Visualisation system, the Prism. An overview of the machine is here And here is the datasheet.

It looks like they took an Altix 350 brick and combined it with an UltimateVision brick. That's what a lot of people at the forum already have discussed/speculated for a couple of months now. So what Operating System is going to run on that? The datasheet mentiones the "Advanced Linux Environment" but uncertain is, whether it is RedHat or SuSE based...

A forum thread which contains discussions about and related to the new machine is here
