ScummVM 0.3.0b for IRIX Available

After a period of inactivity due to some legal wrangling between LucasArts and, a new version of the open source implementation of LucasArt's S.C.U.M.M. (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) interpreter has been released. This package allows you to play classic games such as Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and many more ... on your SGI.

Marcus Herbert has compiled and packaged a IRIX binary (MIPS3 static). If you have any problems downloading the file let me know and I'll host it here as well. The source code is available at the ScummVM website, along with non-IRIX binaries. Have fun!

Whoa. Time to go dig out the ol' Zak McKracken disks! Although, looks like I might not be able to play it just yet.. oh well...I remember these games as being some of the best around (at the time :), this'll be loads of fun!

I haven't tried it out myself yet ... all my old LucasArts games are in storage and I haven't rooted them out :)

Don't know about other people, but I seem not to be able to get on the ftp to grab the tardist.
First connections failed, and after a few days it sais login incorrect. If you could mail it to me or host the thing here, that would make my lady very happy (If there's a Lucas Arts games fan, then it's her. :-))

I've updated the download link in the original post; it's still hosted off site, but hopefully it will resolve the problem you're experiencing.
