Diagnostic LEDs on the Origin2000/Rackmounted Onyx2 Compute Module Midplane.

There are 18 LEDs on the midplane of the Origin2000 or rackmounted Onyx2 compute module (Deskside Onyx2's have a different configuration). The LEDs can be used to diagnose the status of XBOW to device links, and communication errors between processor nodeboards, the XBOW and XIO slots. Sixteen of the eighteen of the LEDs are green, when illuminated those indicate a successful link to the indicated device. The remaining two LEDs are amber. If either of the amber LED are illuminated there is an XBOW communications link error in the respective XBOW.

The system must complete the primary initialization (possibly as long as several minutes) before the LEDs can be read.

The LEDs are separated into two groups:

Bank 0 - Indicates the status and devices connected to XBOW 0:

   *Processor nodeboards 1 & 3 - marked as N1 and N3 - green LEDs indicate a successful link.
   *XIO slots 1 through 6 - marked as W1 through W6 - green LEDs indicate a successful link. 
   *XBOW 0 link error status - marked as X0 Link Error - an amber LED indicates a communication error between the nodeboard, XBOW and XIO slots.
Bank 0 is located on the midplane behind the PCI cardcage or cardcage blanking plate.

Note that the XBOW 0 Link Error LED is located separately from the other XBOW 0 LEDs; it is represented by the upper red rectangle in the following image:
